• March: DON Thursday Nights Out

  • Join us on select Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 8 PM in the DON Gym for a fun evening of activities. 

  • This month, enjoy a St. Patrick’s Day Craft night and bingo.

  • This event is exclusively for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

• March 28: Fire Extinguisher/Smoke Detector Giveaway

  • Join us from 6 PM to 7 PM at 424 N Croton Ave, New Castle, PA 16101.

  • The first 35 households located on East Side Grove to sign up will receive a smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, two fire extinguishers, and a fire safety demonstration by the New Castle Firefighters Local 160. This event is a collaboration between DON and the New Castle Fire Department.

  MAY

• May 3: East Side Garden Ribbon Cutting & Lower East Side Clean-Up

  • Join us from 9 AM to 12:00 PM at 125 N Crawford Ave, New Castle, PA 16101.

  • This is the first of our biannual cleanup and garden beautification events, followed by a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony and picnic-style food. DON is partnering with Tri-County Cleanways and Bible Way COGIC for this event.

• May 22: DON Fishing Derby & Boat Ride at Lake Arthur

  • Join us from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Lake Arthur, Moraine State Park North Shore (McDanels Launch).

  • This event is for consumers only!  

  • Enjoy a day of fishing, yard games, board games, and music! 

  • Limited bus transportation is available from DON's Harrison Street office (first come, first served).

  • Lunch is included, and some fishing poles are available. Bait will be provided, and no fishing license is required.
