Aide – Child Care Center

Description:
The Aide assists with daily child care activities for the assigned classroom or group under the direct oversight of Head Teacher/Assistant Teacher. They assist with implementing curriculum plan developed by Head Teacher/Assistant Teacher for assigned classrooms and program area.

Responsibilities:
1. Assisting in implementation of daily program activities.
2. Assist staff with both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.
3. Maintain daily open communication with parents
4. Maintain confidentiality
5. Report any suspect abuse to supervisor
6. Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy
7. Maintain a safe and healthy environment
8. Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials
9. Attend in-service and staff meetings
10. Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance and time sheets.
11. Meet all applicable licensing regulations

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.

Assistant Group Supervisor/Assistant Teacher – Child Care Center

Description:
The AGS/AT is responsible for serving as a member of a cohesive teaching team, assisting in implementation of the curriculum and management of the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. They must have a basic understanding of the children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. In addition, they must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively work with the lead teacher, and resolve parental concerns.

Responsibilities:
1. Assisting in the implementation of daily activities under the guidance of the group supervisor.
2. Coordinating daily activities and supervising aides in the absence of the group supervisor.
3. Assist group supervisor with both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.
4. Provide input for bi-annual assessment of children's development
5. Maintain daily open communication with parents
6. Keep accident reports
7. Maintain informal records
8. Maintain confidentiality

Group Supervisor/Head Teacher – Child Care Center

Description:
The GS/HT is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. 5. Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child
6. Encourage assistants to contribute to curriculum planning
7. Prepare monthly plan charts
8. Complete bi-annual assessment of children's development
9. Report progress of children to parents in bi-annual reports and through parent-teacher conferences
10. Maintain daily open communication with parents
11. Keep accident reports
12. Maintain informal records
13. Maintain confidentiality
14. Report any suspect abuse to supervisor
15. Maintain a safe and healthy environment
16. Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials
17. Attend in-service and staff meetings
18. Supervise assistants, aides and volunteers in the classroom

21. Additional Supervisors must be present for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
